While the blogosphere might not be too excited about the iPhone 4S, the world is. Apple has admitted to receive a whopping 1 million preorders for the iPhone 4S on the first day itself.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing quoted

…We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S…

The first day preorders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.

The previous record, which was held by the iPhone 4 fell short by 400,000 devices. The world went  crazy when AT&T reported that they had received 200,000 preorders on the very first day.

The result – now you have to wait 1-2 weeks for the device to land at your doorstep.
