Apple has always considered people who own an iPod touch second-class citizens: they have to pay for firmware updates, while iPhone heads get theirs free.
While this is all nice and dandy, firmware 3.0 is said to cause huge issues when installed onto first-generation iPod touch devices. PocketGamer users have reported a variety of issues like:
- Slowness
- App crashes
- Sync issues
While this definitely is annoying, it seems to be a problem of the minority – AdMob reports that bust 1% of users have updated their iPod touch devices (compared to more than 40% of iPhone heads):

As of now, Apple has not stated anything – let’s stay tuned to see how it all works out!
