store IOS 3.0 create iTunes accounts on the goSo far, iPhone users needed to own a PC or Mac – without it, the device could not be used. This was a smart move on Apple’s side (it forced customers to set up a billing infrastructure for third-party content)…but annoyed hell out of some users.

The picture on the left side hits us via Florian Schimanke, who speculates that it may be used to create or switch iTunes accounts on the go – this is especially important due to the new in-app billing.

If this move really breaks the 1:n relationship between iTunes account and device, piracy could get rampant: pirates could set up an iTunes account with cracked or legally purchased goods, and then pass the login around thereby allowing others to pull the content onto their device.

As of now, no further information is available – what do you all think?
