So far, nobody reported anything about a successor to the currently well-selling iPhone 3G – even though quite a few users report a variety of issues with their boxen, the device sells well enough to keep Apple from forcibly investigating a successor.

A rather small blog called The Infinite Loop (not part of any network) claims the following changes on the iPhone 4G:

Battery
Battery life is said to be significantly better:

will be able to power an iPhone 3G for up to 8 hours of talk-time on 3G and 15-20 hours on 2G.” The tipster also boasts and incredible claim of 450 hours of stand-by.

Hardware-wise, the device is said to be spruced up quite a bit. It is said to have a 5MP camera, 64 or 128GB of ROM and a huge 840×560 screen.

Of course: take all of this with a grain of salt. While most of the stuff sounds believable (especially due to the red dot on the top…how should anyone figure this out), the folks at TIL could be trying to create an influx of readers by launching a hoax – nobody knows what my colleagues can be up to as the recession gets harder…
