Many analysts praised the iPhone because it lacked the hardware buttons found on other devices – unfortunately, our colleagues forgot about gaming, everyone who tried to play Quake on an iPhone can confirm this.

However, the huge popularity of the iPhone makes impossible things marketable (anyone remember the game controller for Sony’s Palm OS-powered CLIE handhelds?). The image below shows a prototype of the so-called iControlPad:

As of now, the device hasn’t entered mass production. However, developers like ZodTTD have already pledged support: unfortunately,official Apple SDK support has not been announced yet. Furthermore, no information is available on pricing as of now!
